One of my favourite phone apps in Flipboard. If you haven’t tried it, go do it now. It’s your own personal magazine, where you can add content from across the web, news and magazines so you only have to read what you want to read. In my Flipboard, I have food, tech and style to name a few, and it was in the style section that I saw the declaration from The Guardian that Grunge was back! Oh joy…
To me Grunge screams scruffy, casual teenagers. Whether right, I just associate it with well, looking like you just need a good bath- hey, maybe after V Fest I was actually pulling off grunge after all!
Yet never let it be said I don’t rise to a challenge, so in true fashion slave style I put my own twist in it to give you Grown-Up Grunge.
Pairing a skull jumper with a sleek shirt gives it an adult feel. This jumper is perfect as it isnt too classic punk making styling it up easier. Plus at £19.99 its a steal. Wax jeans are the perfect middle ground for the unsure souls and off course heels will always glams up any outfit.
Shirt: Moschino Jeans

I had a discussion with my yesterday actually about pulling off different styles. She asked me why I could always pull off a trend. While I don’t agree with this (Trust me I did not pull off the skirt over trousers look in the 90s) I believe you can always work a look so long as you tailor it personally to you. I will never be grunge, but a few twists here and there and I can work the trend into a style that suits me.
So net time you love a trend, don’t be afraid to rework it to your style. You don’t need to go full on out, because let’s face it we don’t all suit the same styles. And that’s OK, that’s the beauty of fashion- it CAN be for everyone!
