The clues are there.
These days, when people talk about Selena Gomez's love life, it's usually in reference to her blossoming relationship with Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd. However, her new music could be taking us all on a trip down memory lane, as fans believe an upcoming track is all about ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.
Let's look at the evidence. Selena teased a snippet of the song on her Instagram story, and in it she sings the line: "I had a dream, we were back to 17, summer nights... never growing up." As Elle points out, Selena was seventeen-years-old when she was first introduced to the Biebs, before they embarked on six years of on-off drama, drama, drama.
Clue number two: according to ASCAP, Selena recently registered a song called It Ain't Me, which she co-wrote with DJ Kygo. While this isn't necessarily the same song she teased on her Insta story, it's a possibility that, if she wrote it, the track in question is personal.
Regardless, don't expect Selena to confirm it if the song is about Justin, as she previously told Marie Claire she's tired of talking about her ex.
"I would try to promote something that I loved," she said. "And the entire interview would be about my personal life." Which, to be fair, has got to be really frustrating.
Still, whatever Selena's new track is about, it sounds like it's gonna be a good one. Think upbeat and ultra-catchy - the kind of song she does so well.
