Under the guidance of his manager and LeBron James, Justin Bieber turned down a $5 million offer to perform at the Republican National Convention, TMZ reports – a gig that would have been the biggest single payday for the Canadian-born artist.
According to the report, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, was told by donors that Bieber couldn't make disapproving remarks about Trump and couldn't include #BlackLivesMatter banners during the performance. #AllLivesMatter banners, however, would have reportedly been allowable.
The report also states that Braun told Bieber he could perform if he wanted to, but he wouldn't continue to represent Bieber if he agreed to do the show.
LeBron James also urged Bieber not to perform at the convention, sources told TMZ, and wasn't in Cleveland at the time of the convention.
